After about 6 months of use with our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine it started to sound extremely loud in the spin cycle, we should have called Whirlpool at this point to have it looked at under warranty. Repair went fairly smoothly by following the EXCELLENT how-to video provided. I had only a few issues and suggestions. 1. Because many of the screws and fasteners are of multiple sizes, I would recommend laying them out in a muffin tray or on a paper with labels for where they go back. 2. After removing the weights and prepping to remove the shock absorbers, after the front ones were removed, the tub tilted so far the rear shock absorber separated. The friction pads fell out. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. First, DO NOT call Sears for parts, their call center knows nothing about the product. App-Pros are the best for help and the right parts. I replaced the spin bearing, tub seal, washer and drive belt since I had it all apart. The video was extremely helpful...I would have tore the whole thing apart trying to figure out how the agitator came off....but it was very simple. Read more

I removed the barrel from the inside of the washer, and removed the tub after that I punched out the bearings and replaced them with the ones that were sent which by the way I received within a couple of days. I ordered the inner bearing outer bearing and the seal. Read more
