The Belt is an OEM replacement part for LG dryers that is responsible for connecting the motor to the drum to allow it to tumble. Over time, dryer belts can stretch, wear out, or even break, leading to a drum that won't turn and clothes that don't dry properly.

Symptoms of a bad Dryer Belt include:

• The dryer motor running but the drum not turning.
• A squealing or thumping noise coming from the dryer.
• The dryer not starting at all.

Causes of failure can include regular wear and tear from the dryer's operation, overloading the dryer beyond its capacity, which puts extra strain on the belt, or a misalignment that causes uneven wear. This poly-V dryer drum drive belt wraps around the drum and pulleys to transfer motor power for tumbling. Replace a stretched, glazed, or broken belt to restore drum rotation and consistent drying performance.

• Transfers motor rotation to the drum for steady, even tumbling
• If broken, the motor may run but the drum won't turn
• Worn or slipping belts can cause squealing, thumping, or a burning rubber smell
• Cracks, frayed ribs, or glazing are visual signs the belt needs replacement

• Disconnect power; for gas dryers, also shut off the gas supply
• Remove top/front panels and support the drum to access the belt path
• Loop the new belt around the drum and route/tension it per the unit's belt diagram with the idler and motor pulleys
• Spin the drum by hand to check tracking before reassembly and test run
