Lg Wire, Harness, Power Cord

Was able to diagnose problem at AppliancePartsPros.com by entering the model #. This is apparently a common problem with this Refrigerator Replaced Light Socket Assembly, Lamp Reflector, Lamp Case and Lamp Cover. Also replaced the main circuit board (not sure if this was necessary). I spoke with the experts at parts pro and they suspected the main power board. I ordered the main power board along with the control panel. Since I was taking everything apart I decided to replace other components as well- thermostats, thermistor , sensor wire. When I was all done the old LG was back to working like new. My front loader LG washing machine wasn’t working correctly. The clothes were either coming out unwashed or completely dripping. When turning the washer on it would start up like normal and the turn off a few minutes in. Initially it was not displaying an error code, this made it very difficult to diagnose. I replaced a rotor position sensor switch and harness. It was a simple repair. Tools required cross tip head screwdriver, 10mm and 17mm socket, and rachet. Also had o replace 2 zip ties that held the harness in place. Prior to repair, I watched a video on Appliance Parts Pros website. It was very helpful and informative. I initially replaced the rotator sensor located on the stator assembly. That didn’t fix the problem. So I ordered the stator assembly and the wire harness. After replacing both parts, the washer works great. Not sure if it was the stator or the harness but felt I would leave it as is to prevent any future problems that may occur with old parts. Upon removing the top cover of the washer, it was quite apparent that the noise filter had encountered a thermal failure. The plastic housing was cracked and scorched, and the end of the power cord assembly had melted as well. (This is a common failure for this appliance; one wonders why the noise filter has been located directly above the dryer heating element, when there is space for it on the other side of the machine near the control board...) Accessed the back of the washer as I would to replace the sensor and the old wire harness was easy enough to clip off. Hooked up the new wire harness and put it back together again. Read more
