This heater assembly warms the wash water inside the tub so the control can reach and maintain the selected temperature. Replacing a failed element restores proper heating performance and helps return cycle times to normal. What it does:

I looked online ans read where the tE error code meant the thermistor was bad. I then found a video on YouTube showing how to replace the part. On AppliancePartsPros.com I chatted with a technician that told me the thermistor on my particular model was built into the heater unit and he gave me the link to purchase it. This gasket does not include the port. For the gasket with a port order MDS33059402.
Replaced the boot gasket with help from the online tutorial, took me about an hour but I considered that very reasonable. I think this project could be handled by just about anyone who is remotely handy. Read more

I started by watching the video and it was very helpful. I would make one suggestion. On our model the weights on the tub sit very close to the front gasket. It is much easier to put the gasket on the tub before you put the weights on. Also, since the washer was tore apart, I replaced the hoses and seals and shocks since the machine is about 8 years old.
