Range grease filter captures cooking grease and particles to keep your ventilation system clean. Replace when clogged or discolored. Confirm fit by model.
After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. The only difficulty was that although the cooktop pan appears symmetrical, the screw hole pattern on each side is different. I did... Read more

Fix a microwave that runs but won't heat or won't start when door closes. This door switch is a common fix—most DIYers replace it in 15 minutes.
Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. The last one tested (of course the last one) NO (normally open) did not show resistance; I.e. the ohm meter reading did not change when the switch was depressed. Appliance parts pros was the only company that had the same model number I was looking for (SZW-V16-FD-63). I ordered the relay switch, 2 days later it arrived (regular... Read more

Control knob for cooktop burner adjustment. Mounts on the control panel shaft. Replace if cracked, broken, worn smooth, or missing. Black plastic knob.
First, I just unscrewed all nuts that are holding the frame and all surface elements. Once all parts, surface elements, control switches, are loose from the original glass, I just moved all parts to the new glass. Due to the weight of the glass, all actions have to be done carefully as I broken one corner of the glass couple of years ago when I replaced one of the control switch. Read more

After watching the video, I was certain that this was a repair I could do myself. I ordered the glass and it arrived the next afternoon. That evening, I brought the video up on my computer, gathered a screwdriver, some gloves and a towel to lay the door on when I put it on the table. I watched the video as I did the repair, starting, stopping and backing up as needed. ... Read more

Burner stuck on high or won't adjust temperature? This infinite switch controls heat levels on cooktop elements. DIY repair takes 1-2 hours with power off.
Based on internet search and data found on APPLIANCE PARTS PRO, I deduced that the "infinite control " module was most likely bad. Replaced it and all is good. Toughest part was remembering how to disengage cooktop from down draft blower and then pulling the cook top up in within it's opening. Once pulled up, I put short 2x4's across the opening corners to support the cooktop safely while I worked on it. Next issue was figuring out exactly which screws held the glass top in place. As...
