I didn't know what was wrong at first. All I knew was that it was not cleaning well at all (especially top rack) and leaving food particles on everything. I was washing on power scrub with high heat and still poor cleaning. I suspected a clog so I pulled the dishwasher and removed the plumbing to check it out. It was a learning experience. First I turned off the power! I removed the lower kick plate, disconnected the drain hose and electrical connectors. Then removed the discharge pump and heat sensor then loosened the 4 hold down arms/clamps. Then I opened the door and pulled the base up from the inside. Now to remove and replace the Pump Motor. Then reverse the process. If I were to do again, I'd pull the dishwasher out and lay it on its back. Read more

Ordered numerous replacement parts. Started with the tracks which required pulling the washer out of the cabinet to reach the screws. Pushed it back in and re-secured. Then stared on the rack and replaced the rack adjusters and various clips. Everything is straight forward and easy to replace. I originally called a local repair place to have them repair it. This was a difficult problem to diagnose. Because the machine would start the wash cycle then shut down after a few minutes of running, it appeared that the cause might be a bad thermostat or heating element, but all checked out ok. That led me to believe that the control panel may be the culprit but it also appeared to be working correctly when I ran the diagnostics program. My dishwasher quit cleaning dishes and lost all pressure. The food screen would keep clogging up and I would have to take it out and clean it by hand. After putting a new impeller in, the "gears" on the impeller connected with the screen blades, the old impeller the "gears" were stripped off. I started by removing and cleaning the sump filter and drain adapter at the bottom of the tub. The manual said nothing about these filters, but they were almost completely clogged after 5 years of use and no cleaning. After reassembling with the cleaned filters, the problem persisted. The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. The check valve probably needed no replacement, but once I opened the bottom part, I decided to replace it anyway. She indicated that this would normally mean an issue with either the heating element, the high limit thermostat, or the control board.
