It was very easy caled up ordered the part no prblem got it in 3 days.Got a phillips screw driver removed the top of the stove took out the old one a put in the new one had it fixed within minutes very easy diy no need to pay someone alot of money for this easy fix. Read more

Removed 2 sheet metal screw pulled element out about 2 inches. Removed two Spade connections. Removed the element from the oven. Inserted the new element into the over, connected the two spade connector. Reinstalled the two sheet metal screws. Set the oven to bake for testing and tested until the element turned red. Replaced the burner Infinite switches for the burners having the issue. Here are the latest part numbers for this model Maytag. Left rear (LR) and right rear (RR) burners are both 6" and use the same switch. Part # WP3149404. Left front (LF) is an 11 1/2" burner Part# W10167742. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. One difficulty was that the threaded base plate where the legs screwed in had been damaged and had to be reshaped, I was able to reshape the sockets with some effort, to allow the legs to thread in, though one remained slightly angled. So I ordered the burner and Ithe switch because I wasn't sure what part was defective. I pulled the oven out and I removed the 6 1/4 inch screws on each side of the glass top as well as the 2 Phillips head screws on the back, removing the 2 1/4 screws on the shield on the back gIves you easier access to them, then lifted the glass top up on the front to access the switch and burners. Purchased proper hinges. Lifted oven doors off the hinges. Removed screws securing the oven to the cabinet, then slid out the unit from the cabinet far enough to access the hinges. Then removed trim to better access the hinges. Then removed the screws holding the hinges. Then installed the new hinges, secured them with the screws, then reinstalled the trim, then slid the unit back into the cabinet, and secured it in place with the screws. I first DISCONNECTED POWER FROM THE RANGE using the breaker. I then pulled the range out from the wall to give myself plenty of working room. I lifted the range top up as when you clean under the burners. I then moved the ends of the bottom of the slide rods that lock the range top open back where they came loose from the top of the range. The problem is a finicky ignition system, Direct Spark Ignition. Apparently Whirlpool redesigned the igniter/burner assembly slightly to make it more reliable. The repair is very easy. Turn off power, but you don't need to turn off gas. Remove oven bottom and flame spreader, then remove burner/igniter assembly, one screw at front, one at back. Lift out burner assembly carefully to avoid stretching wire. Pull electric connector from pin on burner/igniter assembly. Vacuum to clean oven. ... Read more

Turned off breaker to oven, took pictures of existing broil, supporting bracket and shield attached to oven, removed screws holding element, support piece and shield, removed bracket and shield, pulled out the element, took another close-up picture of the wires connected to element, removed wires, connected new element, turned breaker on to see if connection is correct, turned it off, installed element, shield and support bracket (in this order).
