This dishwasher heater mounts at the bottom of the tub to raise wash-water temperature and boost the heated dry cycle. Replacing a failed element restores proper heating, helping cycles finish on time and improving drying performance.
- Heats wash water to the correct temperature for effective cleaning
- Aids the dry cycle by evaporating moisture from dishes
- Common symptoms of failure: dishes not drying, water staying cool, longer-than-normal cycles, sanitize option not reaching target temperature
- May show visible damage or test open for continuity
What's included: 1 heating element Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off water supply before servicing
- Pull the dishwasher forward for access to the underside
- Remove wires and retaining nuts from the old element; lift it out through the tub openings
- Seat the new element evenly, tighten hardware securely without overtightening, reconnect wires, then run a short cycle and check for leaks at the ports

Malfunctioning defrost heater Robert R. • Asheville , NC • March 11, 2015
Total repair took slightly over 1 hour. Would have taken longer had I not already have taken the freezer apart on a previous occasion. Therefore I already knew the sequence and was able to disassemble it quickly. A little tricky getting the part out but easier to get it in. SImple repair for anyone mechanically inclined.
