Microwave not heating or making humming noise? The high voltage transformer may need replacement. Moderate difficulty repair requiring proper safety precautions.
Microwave not heating? The high voltage transformer powers the magnetron to generate heat. A failed transformer means no cooking. Moderate DIY repair.
Fix a microwave that won't heat or makes loud buzzing noises. This high voltage transformer powers the magnetron. Moderate DIY repair, 30-45 minutes.
Checked Magnetron, capacitor, and diode. All checked ok. Magnetron was very low resistance across connections and infinite to ground. Cap checked out at 1uF and diode was checked with a 9V battery and checked out ok with a 3V voltage drop. Ran microwave with cover off and noise seemed to be coming from the high voltage transformer. Replaced transformer. All good. Read more
Fix a microwave that won't heat with this high voltage transformer. Restores power to the magnetron for proper cooking. Moderate DIY repair with safety precautions.
If your microwave won't heat food, the high voltage transformer may have failed. This part powers the magnetron to generate microwave energy.
This replacement transformer provides the correct low-voltage power feed that control boards and other electrical circuits need to operate reliably. Replaces a worn or failed transformer to restore control power and normal appliance operation. What it does
