The shave plate is a common snowblower part that attaches to the back of the blower housing and directs snow into the auger and blade assembly so it can be cleared. The particular layer of ice and snow this blade is removing is the hardest and heaviest part of the snowfall. The shave plate is also called the scraper bar or scraper blade. Periodically, because it is in direct contact with the concrete surface below the snow, the shave plate wears out and must be replaced. This part is a sheave plate that is used on snowblowers. This part is attached to the auger housing base assembly and its purpose is to scrape snow up into the auger blades.
