This machine control board is the washer's electronic brain, directing the motor, water valves, and cycle timing. Replacing a failed board restores proper control of wash, rinse, and spin functions and helps resolve erratic or non-starting cycles.

  • Coordinates cycle timing and sends power to the drive motor, drain pump, and fill valves
  • Monitors inputs from the door lock and sensors to manage operation
  • Failure can cause the washer not to start, stop mid-cycle, or fail to spin or drain
  • Associated with control-related error codes or intermittent operation
What's included: 1 machine control board Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
  • Handle the board by the edges and use ESD protection to avoid static damage
  • Label or photograph wiring; move connectors to the new board one at a time and verify ribbon-cable orientation
  • Mount securely and ensure all harnesses are fully seated before restoring power and running diagnostics per the tech sheet

For Whirlpool Machine Control Board (Washer) (Part Number: OEM18019338)

Jim S for Model Number MLE2000AYW

Do I try another control board? Ever had a bad, new control board? My original trouble shooting came up with "replace control board." (Machine stopped during wash, stopped at end of rinse 3, and usually did not spin. I could keep restarting and occassionally get through a complete wash and spin.) So, put in new control board. This gave me new problems: Machine stayed on for complete wash but did not attempt to spin and the machine would auto start when the timer was moved to a run position (line relay still closed but door light had gone out at end of wash). Door locked light and door light go out in different sequence than before. So, I replaced wax motor and timer, although not conviced I needed to. Neither changed anything. Rechecked out-of balance and door locked switches up to the control board. Checked motor and motor control board just because I am running out of things to check. Motor and motor control are the updated version and new 2 years ago. Try another control board????

Jim, No, , your issue was not in the control board to begin with. Check and make sure you have the correct part installed, based on the model and serial number. Based on your post, the original issue would have been with the water level switch WP22002921 , water supply at the faucets, fill valve WP22002437 or air dome hose 22002483. When the main control runs a system check, during the cycle,if it doesn't see the proper circuit from the water level switch, it can result in a shut down of the washer. The control also "counts" the fill cycles, if it doesn't see the proper amount of fills for the cycle counts, it will shut down as well. Also check for any loose connections at the multiplug connectors, mounted to the cabinet frame on each side of the outer tub, and the drain pump for operation as well. Good Luck and Thanks

Phillip, You'll need to be pretty careful, you'll need to move the washer away from the wall so you can access the drain pump, and check for an article(s) stuck in the pump or a defective pump motor WP25001052. You can access the pump from the front of the unit, but thats a bit more involved. here are the basic instructions, "PUMP ASSEMBLY The pump assembly is mounted to the right rear area of the base. REMOVAL 1. Disconnect power to the unit. 2. Spread a towel below the drain hoses prior to loosening the hose clamps. This will catch any residual water left in the hoses and sump area.3. Remove the hose clamps and hoses from the pump. 4. Remove the wiring harness from the pump motor terminals. 5. Rotate the pump assembly in a counterclockwise direction. The support legs of the pump are slotted to engage in keyed slots in the base. Reverse the steps to remount the pump." Good Luck and Thanks

Dave for Model Number mlg2000

Yesterday i asked a question. I replaced my timer, my control board, and i did try the pressure switch, none of these fixed it, I had the machine almost completely disassembled and never found the hose that was recommended. From what i have read the the hose is directly connected to the pressure switch. Not on mine. Any other ideas. I am almost at the point I going to order anything that i can that is available and start swapping out parts until I find it. This machine has got me so frustrated. Thank you again. Dave.

Hello Dave. If you look at the diagram, the pressure hose 22002483 is number 19. Your washer has to have one of these, or it will not operate. The hose goes from the tub assembly to the pressure switch. If yours is missing, you will need to order the hose and install it on the switch and the tub assembly. No washer made can run correctly with out a water level switch. It has to have this on it. Here is a link to the diagram we are referring to. Hope this helps. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=47168&diagram_id=28484715

Hello Dave. The way that machine is designed, your washer shut be shutting down(off) if the control board doesn't see the voltage or circuit resistance within a certain amount of time, the machine control will open the line relay and shut off. I wouldn't go with a fill valve, at this point, but you will need to check the water level switch 22003727 and airdome hose 22002483, inside the washer cabinet on the rear wall. In the bottom of the machine. The water level switch is mounted to the pump assembly, and the hose attaches to the water level switch. Hope this helps.

You should also check all the wiring in the two multi plugs on the side of the tub(one on each side of the tub). and the connections at the machine control board and timer. a loose connection or wire can wreak havoc on you. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Dan. You will want to get to the main control board located right front top corner inside the dryer cabinet. Look for a burnt resistor labelled "R11". If discolored or damaged, you will need to replace the main board WP22004325 and the wax motor WP22002119. Hope this helps!
