John for Model Number 106.52603100

Hello I have a kenmore elite side by side it was gave to to me and the part that plugs onto the compressor is missing. Is this the starter? It also has 4 wires that would plug into the part that plugs onto the compressor. The wire was laying on one of cooling lines for the compressor and I think that is why the wires caught on fire. The wires that plug into whatever plugs onto the compressor 2 of them come from the right side of the frig and 2 of them come from a looks like a relay in front of the compressor. Is this the starter? Can you help me? Also there are 3 prongs on the compressor where this would plug or push on I dont have the part the person that took it off could not find it so I could see what it looked like. Waiting your reply.

Ed G. for Model Number ED5RHEXNL00

Hey Guys,my fridge is on the fritz. The motors run fine, lights work, but its just blowing warm air. I tested the compressor with a ohm meter and it passed the test. I looked for oil leaks, and everything is clean as a whip. The compressor gets hot. I tested the run capacitor with the ohm meter on 1K and got a quick short read on the scale. There is no burned up parts in the compressor starting device ether. How can I get this thing back on line?

Hello Ed. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the compressor W10309994 is bad, or there is a restriction, or a freon leak. If the compressor is running, but the unit is not cooling, you have a restriction or a leak. Hope this helps.

Hello Bill. If the compressor is working, then the starting device should be ok. Check and make sure the condensor fan motor W10124096 is running in the back of the refrigerator. Also check and make sure the evaporator fan motor WP4389147 inside the freezer is running. If both fan motors are running, you will need to check and see if there is a frost build up inside the freezer on the back wall. If so, you have a defrost problem. You will need to test the defrost heater WP2323198 and defrost thermostat WPW10225581. They should read closed for continuity. If they are good, you will need to replace the defrost control board WPW10366605. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

B.B for Model Number Amana abb2224DEW

Amana certified repairman used this kit to repair our compressor start mechanism. (8201786 is the number he included on our bill) instructions for this part says (im reading w/difficulty the picture of the instruction sheet online)its made for a kenmore side by side and only with EGY 80 or EGY 90 type compressors. Our compressor is tecumsah TP141-AR-229-B8 also has numbers R134a 115v60hz/100v-50hz. Repair lasted 10 days until buzz click reoccurred. MY QUESTION: Is this the appropriate part for our refrig? Could our problem be that this is not effective for our particular compressor? I believe egy is a different make of compressor? Thanks!

Hello B.B! The compressor start device kit for your model should be part number W10613606. This would be a different part number than what was installed on your unit. It is likely, if the incorrect part was installed the problem will occur again. The manufacture suggest installing the correct parts on your model for the unit to work properly. Thanks.
