Charlie for Model Number Gew9200LL1

I checked the door switch using the diagnostic test mode when the door is opened code E-3 is displayed and when door is closed code disapears. The diagnostic test mode is hard to access, some times I can start the dryer but not be able to access the test mode ( after shutting off the dryer ). At times the dryer control button turns the dryer on other times it wont. I tested P1-4 to ground no voltage indicated when the start button was pushed even the time I pushed the control button ( dryer control panel turned on ) first then the start button dryer started but no voltage was indicated at P1-4. I checked the console electronics panel using the diode test method in tech sheet all readings were aceptable ( .5 to 1.5 VDC ) except auto dry ( P3-14 to P3-7 ) it read 2.39 VDC and control on mode ( P3-9 to P3-12 ) also 2.39 VDC. When I pluged the board back in the dryer worked Then later it would not turn on nor go into the diagnostic mode. I'am not sure if I should order this circuit board or not. I am a licensed electrician and work on old cars for a hobby but this dryer is driving me nuts with its work not work modes. Thank you for any help you can give

Charlie, A couple of things to check before you replace the user interface control. Make sure the dryer door and door catches are properly aligned and both catches grip and hold the door in when closed. Check the door switch circuits and wiring with a meter, if possible. Since this seems to be an intermittent issue, your first repair should be the user interface, check and make sure there are no loose connections on the ribbon connector(s) at both board connections. Replace the interface 3980189 if all checks are OK. Good Luck

Charlie, You most likely have a bad User Interface 3980189, it contains the speaker and circuits to start and run the dryer. Do you have any Fail codes displayed on the control console ? and have you checked the door switch circuit for proper operation ? You could also check for 120 VAC on the main control board (P1 pin 4 to chassis ground when the start button is pressed) would be power out to the motor. There are more checks to make, if you find no problems with these checks, Thanks and Good Luck.

Hello Al. As long as everything test good, and the voltage is correct, you can remove the wires from the heater and test from there. Each wire should have 120 volts AC to ground. When you locate the dead wire, trace it and see if it goes to the board. If so, you will need to replace the control board WP8546219. Hope this helps.

Hello Paul. Make sure the belt 661570V is not broke. On the main control board WP8546219 check across pins P1-3 & P1-2. This should read closed for continuity. If so, the door switch is good. If not, replace the door switch. If it is good, you will want to test the thermal fuse WP3392519 and the belt switch 279782. They should read closed for continuity. If both of these are good, and the door switch is good, you will need to replace the main control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Laura for Model Number 110.95089401

My dryer is running intermittently. When I press any button, nothing shows on the panel. When I unplug and let it sit for a while and try later it may turn on. For a month It would work fine and now its back to not showing power at all and hoping if I unplug and let it sit, it will work. Also when it does start, the end of cycle beep keeps buzzing. I've had a technician come out and say the control board needs to be replaced. Cost will be over 400 bucks... ouch. Based on what I've described and read here, I'm not sure which control board needs replaced. The front of the one on the left. Thank you

Hello Pam. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board WP8546219 is bad and will need to be replaced. There is no way to tell if the other parts are bad until the board is fixed. You can test the heater and thermal cut-offs for continuity. They should read closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Mike, check and make sure there are no loose connections at the terminal block, where the power cord attaches,at the back of the dryer. Remove the top of the dryer, and check the wire harness, that attaches between the front control board and the power board on the left side of the cabinet interior. Make sure there are no loose connections, and theres no corrosion on the pin connectors. If the problem persists, You'll need to circuit test the ribbon connectors before you replace the control boardWP8546219 . Good Luck.
