Having a very old wall oven,I could not find any parts or manual associated. Chris diligently located a part that would hopefully replace the old element. The old oven did not have the sleeve type connector used for the current elements. The old wiring had a screw attachment. Diagnosed by local appliance shop as element. Didn't sound correct due to manner of failure. Also they were charging three times Whirlpool list for the part. Continuity checked element with ohm meter - ok. Replaced switch. Problem solved.
