I examined the inner burner heads and determined that two of the most frequently used burners were warped and were not making good contact with the burner base. It's a GE Profile series stove about 10 -12 years old. I never did a job like this, but the parts manual pictures made it simple, and then this site made it simple to order the parts. - Common symptoms of a failing or clogged spud: weak or uneven flame, yellow tipping, or delayed ignition
- Damaged threads or a stripped orifice can prevent correct sealing and fuel delivery
What's included: 1 orifice spud Install notes:
- Shut off gas supply and disconnect power; allow the appliance to cool
- Access the orifice holder/manifold for the affected burner; remove the old spud with an appropriate orifice wrench or nut driver
- Start the new spud by hand to avoid cross-threading; tighten snugly—do not overtighten brass threads
- Restore gas and check for leaks with an approved leak-detection solution; verify flame quality and adjust per the service manual
