I examined the inner burner heads and determined that two of the most frequently used burners were warped and were not making good contact with the burner base. It's a GE Profile series stove about 10 -12 years old. I checked the GE Parts website, and they wanted almost $100 for the large burner head but didn't even have the small one at all, saying it was no longer available. In an attempt to clean the range from the grease-gunk build-up, I had to remove the burner heads. Unfortunately, the 2 most used burner heads had immovable screws that locked them into the orifices underneath. After numerous hours in attempts to salvage the old burner heads and orifices attempting to remove the immovable screws, I gave up. Checked Maytag's website for parts and found nothing. I thought it was the burners and ordered four burners. When they arrived I thought three of them were wrong parts so I ordered three others and scheduled a return of three I had just received. I then realized it was not the burner but the diffuser plated on top of the burners. I cancelled the new order, arranged a return of the four initial burners and ordered four diffuser plated. I bought new parts, but in black, so that any future staining over time would not be as noticeable. I was able to find everything I needed through AppliancePartsPros.com, and even though I only paid for economy delivery (3-6 working days), I was amazed that they turned up within 24 hours of my order being submitted!
