This thermostat regulates refrigerator temperature to help maintain consistent cooling and proper food storage. It replaces a faulty control to restore normal cycling and temperature response. What it does:

- Can stop continuous compressor operation when the thermostat is functioning correctly

Purchased thermostat from Appliance Parts Pros. Installed easily - a jillion sheet metal screws, is all. Recommend use a magnetic parts tray to keep them from disappearing in the kitchen...
The thermostat controls the heat and fan in the lower oven. Believe it was ruined when it got banged with bakeware.
Hardest part was removing the oven from the cabinet.
