• Oven is too hot

Well it wasn't hard to replace at all pretty easy. But trying to figure out what the problem was that got me. I turned of my oven and the light continued to stay on like it wasn't turn off but it was. I researched it and said it was the oven elements not true I was already confused enough so I said let go to the source of what make oven come on the oven control knob so I took the old switch off and looked up the numbers and ordered the part and lucky me that was the problem less than 50$ to fix... The repair was relatively simple and quick. The only part required was a new oven thermostat assembly and the tools I used for my model was a flathead screwdriver, cross-point screwdriver, torque bit and 1/4 inch socket using a bit driver. To complete the repair, I did the following: 1. Remove all top stove burner pieces and place to the side. Remove the 3 three screws (torque bit) in each of the 4 burner locations. Replaced thermostat. Biggest challenge was how to feed the thermostat from the back of the stove into the oven. I found the easiest way is to tie a string onto the existing thermostat in the oven before it is removed. When the existing thermostat is pulled out the back un-tie the string and tie it on the new thermostat then pull the string from in the oven to draw the new thermostat through the hole. Read more

We were originally unsure whether our client's issue was related to the thermostat itself or just the light indicator. We at first were only going to order the light indicator, but ordered both parts to be safe, and are so glad we did because it turned out to be the thermostat as well. Took off the gas burners, propped up the top, took out the old thermostat and wired the new one in. Getting the capillary tube down to the lower oven was a problem. I used a string taped to the old one when I pulled it out, but when I pulled the new one down to the hole in the oven, it would not go in.The hole was straight into the oven, and there was not enough space to turn the long straight bulb to go into the hole. Purchased thermostat from Appliance Parts Pros. Installed easily - a jillion sheet metal screws, is all. Recommend use a magnetic parts tray to keep them from disappearing in the kitchen... The thermostat controls the heat and fan in the lower oven. Believe it was ruined when it got banged with bakeware. Hardest part was removing the oven from the cabinet. Read more

One of the slip nuts was seized and was twisting the line when I turned it for removal. I was able to remove the other two lines and hold the nut with a wrench and spin the switch assembly in order to disconnect this line without damaging it. I attached the new switch with the same technique.
