After doing some research online, I saw that to have an appliance repair person come out to fix the touchpad, would cost us well over $500. Some people said they would charge $500 for the part alone. Over time, the control setting markers on this part could wear off so that they can no longer be seen. If this is the case, the control panel insert can be replaced so that the correct settings can be used. If this part becomes discolored or otherwise worn in any way, the appliance owner may wish to replace it for cosmetic reasons. Unplug the oven unit from its power source prior to attempting to replace this part. After doing much research online, I found out that the Touchpad on the JennAir downdraft gas range JGS9900BDS is very prone to "breaking." All my neighbors who has this model has reported that the touchpad stopped responding after a few years. Replacing was fairly simple.
1. Turn off the electricity to the range at the breaker
2. Pull the range out by an inch or two
3. On each side of the control panel, remove the screws.

This is an oven with keypad directly above oven door. And needed to replace the keypad and housing. Pretty easy fix.
