Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Blower cooling fan had a bad bushing and was vibrating and making noise   Christopher O. • Great Falls , VA • March 12, 2014

Easy fix, this was an identical match to the fan that was in the oven. The only thing missing was the foam strip, that easily came off the old fan assembly and stuck to the new one. The hardest thing was finding the part, and with a picture to verify. I have found appliancepros.com has a large list of available parts, easy to find in their inventory of available items, and some of the best prices as well. Motor
Genuine Bosch part
By: Bosch
Part Number: 00497756

This OEM replacement part is a motor assembly for ovens. The motor assembly is the main motor that powers the oven fan which is responsible for maintaining and adjusting the temperature in an oven. After it has been powered off, proceed to pull the oven out and away from the wall. Once moved, uninstall the back panel of the oven by removing the panel's mounting screws. After detaching the back panel, locate the motor housing on the back of the oven. Unthread the screws that hold the housing in place. Fan Motor
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10860984

The Motor-Fan is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool kitchen ranges. Located within the back wall of the oven cavity, the motor fan works to circulate air and remove excess moisture and smoke during the cooking process. Proper motor-fan functioning helps ensure efficient oven ventilation and performance.

Symptoms of a bad motor fan include:

  • Excessive smoke or moisture left in the oven after cooking
  • Oven taking longer to preheat and cook due to poor air circulation
  • Loud buzzing or grinding noises emanating from the fan

Causes of failure are normally wear and tear of motor windings or fan blade bearings from years of continuous use. Overheating can potentially reduce lifespan as well.

This OEM Whirlpool part is compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The convection fan on my ge profile convection wall oven burned out   Doug C. • Staunton , VA • February 18, 2015

The motor hummed but the fan didn't turn. Clearly the brushes were burned out. I ordered a new fan, although I had to talk to a human at ApplianceParts because my model was not listed. The part was a perfect fit. The only problem is determining how to remove the over to reach the back, no instructions anywhere online. But trial and error eventually worked. You absolutely need a nut-driver that fits the hex head screws on the oven to remove panels covering the motor, but a cheap... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE Profile range display dead after self cleaning.   Lance C. • Wooster , OH • May 07, 2022

Replaced the thermal limit switch and blower. The blower had been getting noisy lately and was most likely the cause of the limit switch blowing. Upon removal of the blower it was very stiff when turning by hand. Easy to change the blower - disconnect the power, open the back of the range and three Phillips screws hold the blower in place. Replacing the limit switch was a different story. First, as the limit switch blew during cleaning the oven door was locked shut. With the display dead,... Read more
