This is a plastic actuator pad located behind the dispenser panel on a refrigerator door. When you press a glass against it, it triggers the water dispenser switch to start the flow of water. Replace this actuator if the water dispenser no longer responds to pressure, the paddle is cracked or broken, or if you have to press unusually hard to get water to dispense.
