Fix noisy or squealing sounds from the back of your fridge with a new condenser fan motor. Typical DIY repair takes 8-10 minutes with basic tools.
After removing the rear panel, I vacuumed the area. Then was easy to see condenser fan not spinning. I replaced the fan with a compression ring and a fan motor. First pulled the wiring harness connected to fan motor, then pulled off the fan with hands. Then used a wrench to remove 2 bolts for the motor. Next, pushed on new fan and screwed in the 2 bolts for the motor. Initially, I purchased a new temperature control to replace as well but after replacing fan and motor, I believe it was still... Ice dispenser not working? This refrigerator ice dispenser motor drives the auger mechanism. Moderate DIY repair, typically completed in 20-40 minutes.
Lost power for 24 hours due to hurricane Mathew and water dripped into the ice dispenser motor and refroze when the power was restored. Ice maker worked but would not dispense ice. Dispenser motor was frozen and motor burned out. Two screw under the ice bucket reveals the auger motor. Four screws removed the motor. I think they were 5/16 socket. Removing the wiring harness was the only problem. Connection were corroded and a pin broke off the motor and a female connector in the plastic... Read more

However on taking back off frig we could see fan sometimes slowed and then began loud "animal " squeaking noise ! Although the back bottom of our fridge was relatively open it was very tricky to ease out fan and motor. Fortunately I had also ordered fan and grommet as fan was almost impossible to... Read more
Refrigerator not cooling or running hot? A failing condenser fan motor often causes poor cooling. This motor replacement typically takes 30-45 minutes.
By process of elimination I concluded that the condenser was working fine since the freezer seemed to work fine. However, there was a noise coming from the condenser fan motor as well. I first emptied out both the refrigerator and freezer. I first wanted to check the evaporator motor and fan to see if that was the problem. I unplugged the refrigerator. I did not have to take out the ice maker but I did because it was easier to see. I unscrewed the panel in the inside - rear of the freezer. ... Read more

Through troubleshooting and videos from Appliance Parts Pros, I actually had ordered 3 different parts until coming to the conclusion that it was the Evaporator Fan Motor. The old fan was working, but apparently not to its' full capacity. The greatest part of dealing with Appliance Parts Pros is being able to return parts if they are discovered to not be the correct ones. It makes it nice for DIY'ers. Read more
