Part Number: WR60X10238

Fix noisy or squealing sounds from the back of your fridge with a new condenser fan motor. Typical DIY repair takes 8-10 minutes with basic tools.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frig and freezer not cold enough   Brian L. • North Las Vegas , NV • July 22, 2019

After removing the rear panel, I vacuumed the area. Then was easy to see condenser fan not spinning. I replaced the fan with a compression ring and a fan motor. First pulled the wiring harness connected to fan motor, then pulled off the fan with hands. Then used a wrench to remove 2 bolts for the motor. Next, pushed on new fan and screwed in the 2 bolts for the motor. Initially, I purchased a new temperature control to replace as well but after replacing fan and motor, I believe it was still... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser auger motor burned out   David T. • Ponte Vedrda Beach , FL • October 18, 2016

Lost power for 24 hours due to hurricane Mathew and water dripped into the ice dispenser motor and refroze when the power was restored. Ice maker worked but would not dispense ice. Dispenser motor was frozen and motor burned out. Two screw under the ice bucket reveals the auger motor. Four screws removed the motor. I think they were 5/16 socket. Removing the wiring harness was the only problem. Connection were corroded and a pin broke off the motor and a female connector in the plastic... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE frig doing awful intermittent loud squeaking !   Susan D. • Sarasota , FL • December 03, 2018

After a lot of research on internet we thought it might be the condenser fan motor . we were a but confused as frig still working and cooling. I had imagined if motor gone bad it would just stop . However on taking back off frig we could see fan sometimes slowed and then began loud "animal " squeaking noise ! Although the back bottom of our fridge was relatively open it was very tricky to ease out fan and motor. Fortunately I had also ordered fan and grommet as fan was almost impossible to... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Refrigerator section of a side by side samsung was not and noise coming from the back   Shawn F. • Philadelphia , PA • December 08, 2015

By process of elimination I concluded that the condenser was working fine since the freezer seemed to work fine. However, there was a noise coming from the condenser fan motor as well. I first emptied out both the refrigerator and freezer. I first wanted to check the evaporator motor and fan to see if that was the problem. I unplugged the refrigerator. I did not have to take out the ice maker but I did because it was easier to see. I unscrewed the panel in the inside - rear of the freezer. ... Read more

Dc Motor
Genuine Lg part

  • Disconnect power before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Access the fan area per service information (rear interior panel or machine compartment)
