I changed the motherboard - computer and also changed the motor in the freezer, because it was doing a howling sound every time it turned on. First, cleaned all the dirt and lint from the condenser radiator, the fan motor is in a metal housing holding the fan motor in place. look carefully and there is a sheet metal screw at the bottom of the housing, 1/4 inch screw head sheet metal screw. My refrigerator's cooling fan was making a noise. It wasn't loud; in fact, it was barely discernible. However, it was just loud enough to annoy me. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. I googled the issue and read several articles. Most started with cleaning the coils (which mine are on the bottom) (19yr old Kenmore 363.9557812). I had not really ever cleaned them well, vacuuming did little. I had to remove the cardboard cover off the back of the frig, and blew them clean (front to back). Ordered a new Fan motor after referencing Model Number. Part was delivered in a timely matter. Unplugged Refrigerator from wall. Used a socket to remove bolts from. Cardboard access cover and also to remove Fan bracket to remove old fan and unclipped connector. Fan Blade and the two rubber grommets I reused on new replacement motor. I first watched U-Tube tutorials for an hour that addressed the defect and demonstrated the typical repair formats. There could be 4 separate components that required careful testing to determine which part had failed. Determined that the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment was not running properly and making noise. Ordered a replacement evaporator fan and blade. Removed the freezer door, baskets, and side rails. Removed the back panel of the freezer compartment by unscrewing and disconnecting the power cable connected to the fan. Removed fan blade. I had found that the fan in the freezer was making a lot of noise. Turns out the shaft was loose, causing the flan blade to wobble. Replaced the motor and fan and now it runs like a new unit. Read more

1. Unplug the power, 2. Removed the shelving and Ice maker including power cord, 3. Removed the air flow conduits, 4. Removed the back panel, 5. Removed evaporator fan housing and drop down then un clip power supply and remove evaporator fan housing and all and set on a flat surface, 6. Remove the upper bracket holding in evaporator and remove evaporator fan ( be sure to remove the fan blade you'll need it for the new motor ) 7.
