Roper Agitator Parts

• Will not agitate
• Spins slowly

I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. Replaced washer drive block and Cam. I called around and finally settled on Appliance Parts Pros because they helped diagnose the problem, told me what parts to replace and had videos to show me how to do it. In completing the repair I had to remove quite a few pieces of hardware in order to get at the part I was to replace. I also noticed the agitator seemed to 'wobble' and made 'knocking' noises quite a bit. Pulled the washer apart (using your videos as a refresher) and found that the plastic coupling between the motor and the transmission had failed. Searched for parts vendors and found your site. Ordered the coupling on-line and went back down to clean up the machine. In the cleaning process I found a damaged thrust washer for the upper agitator and broken drive dogs for that same agitator. The ridges inside the agitator base were stripped. Installed a new base - after a good cleaning of build-up on the spindle. Works like new! Read more

I watched a few on line videos. Found 2 easy things to check. The motor coupler then the clutch. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything apart and find out which problem it was. Went on line to Appliance Pros.com and ordered the new clutch.It came in 2 days. Took less than 30 minutes to get it on and get everything back together. It was awesome. Read more

My wife noticed that our washing machine was making a terrible rumbling noise and seemed to be out of balance all of the time. She was on the verge of calling a repairman when I said I wanted to look at it first. I noticed the agitator was very loose and would spin in your hand. I removed 1 bolt and the agitator was out. Bought a new upper agitator/filter housing. Just slide it over the bottom agitator housing and put the cap from the old one on the new one. Takes maybe 3 minutes to do. The screen inside the lower part of the housing/filter holds it snug to the bottom housing and does not fly off during the spin cycle. Works great. Read more

Opened lid during cycle and found upper agitator not turning.Removed dust cover seal and saw cam turning but dogs were only engaging once in a while.Although I didn't need to replace the upper agitator I did anyway,along with the agitator cam kit. I watched the quick repair video and repaired the washer myself in less than 30 min. Read more

I have a 25 year old Kenmore washer that works well and didn't want to get a new washer as they don't make them like they used to. Upon removing the top cap of the agitator and doing an inspection, the agitator dogs were completely broken into pieces.
