The amount of water being dispensed into the ice cube tray was excessive, causing overflow of the tray. The water then ran into the collection bin and even down the side walls of the freezer creating a huge block of ice in the bin, and ice all over the lower shelves as well. Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy. If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap. I ended up not needing to replace the fixer handle (part #AP4372038), but I'll keep it around just in case. Read more

Tl;dr: Watch the repair video FIRST. This will take you less than 15m if you do watch the video. You need to remove a door panel, you can't directly replace the icemaker. Even without doing that, it took me less than 30 minutes. 4 screws, a panel removal, a couple of computer-style power plugs, and you'll have ice again no problem. Stupid easy. First, I removed the old gaskets, which was a very easy task since they are held in the doors by rubber beads in recessed slots. I installed the new right door gasket in less than 10 minutes by gradually pushing the retainer bead into the door recessed slot with finger pressure until it was seated properly. Replaced all 3 gaskets with gaskets from appliancepartspros.com. Gaskets took less than 10 minutes to replace and fit perfect! I checked the refrigerator and freezer compartments approx 6 hrs later and found the compartments to be a few degrees colder. Freezer ice was cold and loose, not stuck together. Samsung refrrigerator. it started when the setting was on cubes but was putting out crushed ice. then months later the water refill was running down into the ice bucket causing a massive block of ice in the bucket. look closely at the first two or three cubes in the ice tray after they unload. mine were not dumping and staying in the tray. when the water refill kicked on it would overfill the tray (because of the leftover cubes remaining in the tray) and would run down into the ice bucket... The easiest repair I've ever done. I originally thought (after watching some youtube tutorials) I would need to replace the spring on the flap, but it is not accessible on our Samsung model. Undid the two screws holding the flap to the fridge door, pop it up off the other supports, and un-clip it from the power cord. Put the new flap on the same way and all done! I am so blessed. I went online. Found the brackets. Watch the video for the brackets I chose. And lucky me. I did not have to pull the dishwasher out. The installer did not have it flush under the counter. So I was able to pull the dishwasher forward unhook the damage brackets and insert the new. Put the dishwasher back in. Two screws. Purchased both the ice maker assembly and the valve assembly to replace the parts as needed. replaced the ice maker assembly first, and this fixed my problem. Took about 10 minutes, mainly because I didn't watch the YouTube video first. Had I watched that, it would have probably taken even less time. One Philips head screw driver is all you need.
