Albert B Lebanon , TN June 26, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF268ACBP/XAA Door flap on samsung french door refrigerator hinge broken Looked at new part and realized there were only 2 screws that held the flap onto the door. Removed 2 caps off of screws with small knife and saved them. Removed 2 screws and the flap fell off into my hands. Disconnected wire harness. Connected wire harness for new flap and carefully pushed harness back into recess in door. Put screws back with caps. Closed the door to test and another wonderful job completed by homeowner! Extremely easy to replace - remove two screws and slide off old part, unplug heater wire and then reverse process to install new part. Best of all, this replacement appear to be a tremendous improvement over old part- no more stupid spring which never worked correctly and broke frequently. Remains to be seen how the new device will hold up, due to the spring being replaced by a hidden mechanism so dk how it works.
