I figured there could only be a couple reasons why the dryer would not heat so I did some research. I read where you could test for continuity on the parts to determine which one was bad. A friend referred me to this site, I looked up the part for my particular model, ordered and replaced the part. It could not have been any easier. I will come back to this site with my future appliance parts needs for sure! Read more

Replaced all damaged parts, rear drum rollers, front drum 'bearings', felt seal infront of drum, idler pulley and arm. Lastly replaced motor. Hopefully will work for another 11 years?? Videos were awesome, telephone assistance was great as welll. Thank you. Read more

Cleaned exhaust duct, but only from the dryer/laundry room side. Replaced thermal fuse. Unit worked for about two loads and thermal fuse blew again. This time I cleaned the exhaust vent on the roof of my 2-story house. It was found to be partially obstructed and I was able to remove a significant amount of lint from it. Replaced valve had some trouble removing the fitting from the valve as the new fitting was slightly too large and had to be replaced with the fitting from the old valve. Used a large crescent wrench to grip the valve at the base and I was able to apply enough force to remove both fittings transferring old fitting to new valve. The instructions were detailed and excellent. The dryer is up and running fine. Read more

When I first looked at my dryer I thought it was my ignitor, on a closer look I found that about an inch of my burner assembly arm was laying in a corroded mess on the bottom pan of my dryer. I had already broken down (took apart) my dryer one other time to replace some parts and did this again to install a new blower wheel fan and the repairs/replacement went well knowing full well that when I had the dryer apart last time around and knew of the slight break in the old blower wheel--I should of ordered a new part for this then!!! I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly.
