The amount of water being dispensed into the ice cube tray was excessive, causing overflow of the tray. The water then ran into the collection bin and even down the side walls of the freezer creating a huge block of ice in the bin, and ice all over the lower shelves as well. The excessive build up of ice caused the cube tray to crack and also split the little silicone water grommet that connects to the water delivery tube which directs water into the cube tray. Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy. If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap. Looked at new part and realized there were only 2 screws that held the flap onto the door. Removed 2 caps off of screws with small knife and saved them. Removed 2 screws and the flap fell off into my hands. Disconnected wire harness. Connected wire harness for new flap and carefully pushed harness back into recess in door. Put screws back with caps. Turn off the water to the ice maker. Unload the freezer and remove the freezer door so you have room to work. Remove the ice maker by removing 2 screws in the front then pull the unit toward the front and unplug the wiring connection. The pipe will now be exposed. Remove the flexible piece from the front of the pipe that directs the water flow to the ice cube tray. Remove the wire tie on the front of the pipe and peel off the insulation surrounding the pipe. I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up.
