I previously ordered the heating element, thermostat, and fuse. Also the rear drum rollers. However, after completing that repair I noticed that the terminal block and power cord had some damage from an apparent overheating while allowing the dryer to continue to run in order to dry the clothes. Ultimately, the cycling thermostat appeared to be causing the problem. Although testing it did not reveal any issues, replacing it resolved the problem. I had tried the high limit thermostat which did not resolve the overheating issue. While I was at it, I replaced the heating element as it was showing its age (dryer is about 25 years old) but it tested OK. Wife satisfaction factor is highly increased now! Read more

Installed a new thermistor tempiture control and it heats up as it should. Tools used was a ohlm meter, 1" stiff puty knife, #2 Philips screw driver, neadle nose pliers,1/4 & 5/16 nut drivers. Read more

I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal.
