Freezer icing up or fridge too warm? The defrost heater melts frost from evaporator coils to restore cooling. Typical DIY repair takes 20 minutes-2.5 hours.
Having never fixed a fridge before, I did a little research. The unit was not old & the cooling system was operating. Observing the frozen ice inside, I diagnosed it as the heat rod and/or it's thermostat as bad. I contacted ApplianceParts Pros, who assisted in confirming my theory. IMPORTANT NOTE: the sales advisor Joyce was truly an intelligent, knowledgable professional, NOT some "burger-order taker" usually encountered. This alone speaks VOLUMES. Subsequently, the parts arrived... Read more
If your oven won't heat or igniter glows but gas won't light, the igniter is likely weak. This is a common DIY repair taking 15-30 minutes.
The bake (bottom burner) worked after replacing the ignitor. Becareful and do not drop the ignitor or the element will break. I found out the hard way. I bought the first ignitor at a local appliance store. After breaking that one, I found another at appliancepartspros.com for $20 cheaper. Thanks appliancepartspros!!! Read more
Fix a washer that won't drain or shows ND error code. This drain pump assembly removes water during drain cycles. DIY repair in 30 minutes with video.
I looked up the error code on the internet and determined that the drain pump had failed. I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video on how to replace this part, ordered a new pump and installed it myself in less than 30 minutes. This was an easy job that saved me the price of a service call, at least one hour of labor, and perhaps a markup on the part--probably around $200.00 total. I do this kind of work around the house a lot and win points with my wife. I still haven't received my... Read more

Replace your dryer's drum felt seal to stop air leaks, reduce noise, and prevent clothing stains. Fits between drum and bulkhead. Confirm fit with model.
After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. I did, however, find that the drum had some up and down play in it. After closer inspection, I could see that the front drum seal was actually worn to the point that I could see a gap between the seal and the drum. I figured that the gap in the seal was letting air in and not letting sufficient air flow through the... Read more
