Since it is not a pneumatic wheel, there is no concern that it will roll over hidden debris and be damaged. Push wheels such as these often last the lifetime of a Lawn Mower. However, there are occasions when the housing of the mower is dropped and the wheel becomes warped or broken. It's also the case that, with constant use, the wheels can lose tread, making them harder to maneuver in tough mowing conditions. It has also been reported that the tires will wear and become smaller in circumference over time, meaning it will require more gasoline to mow the same amount of yard.
