The Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers that is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher at the start of each wash cycle. The water inlet valve opens to allow water to enter the dishwasher and then closes to ensure the correct amount of water is used during the cycle. Redesigned: Valve mounts directly on the frame and no longer includes or requires the mounting bracket.
Symptoms of a bad Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve include:
- Inadequate water filling the dishwasher.
- Overfilling, which can cause leaks and potential water damage.
- Unusual noises coming from the valve area.
- The dishwasher not starting.
Causes of a bad water inlet valve can vary from mineral buildup from hard water, which can block the valve, to mechanical failure or wear and tear over time. Electrical issues can also affect the valve's operation, preventing it from opening or closing properly.
This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.
