Crosley Igniter

By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP37001308

The Igniter is an OEM part designed specifically for Whirlpool brand gas dryers. It produces the spark to ignite the burner and initiate drying cycles.  If your original ignitor was round, also order bracket 37001309.

Symptoms of a faulty igniter include:

Potential causes involve typical wear from repeated sparking over many heating cycles. Mineral deposits or moisture intrusion can reduce effectiveness as well.

Compatible models include some brands produced by Amana, KitchenAid, and Kenmore.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My son advised that my Amana LG3412W suddenly developed the "no heat" syndrome   William S. • Tulsa , OK • September 11, 2018

After verifying the no heat problem myself, I just googled "LG3412W no heat" with my smartphone and thumb. One of the first hits was the Appliance Parts Pros website with a list of 8 possible parts that might fix this problem, listed in descending order of likelihood of success. With 3 adults worth of dirty laundry piling up and straining our ability to drip dry, I had to agonize over: 1) buying a new dryer from whatever a local dealer had in stock, then clearing years of valuable junk in... Crosley Dryer Thermal Limiter
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 137539200

Dryer won't heat or shows E66 error? The thermal limiter prevents overheating by monitoring airflow. Moderate DIY repair, requires rear panel access.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire dryer error e66 then door open   Nolan R. • Hoboken , NJ • February 06, 2017

My Electrolux Frigidaire Gas Dryer stopped working and I got an error code E66 that the thermal limiter blew from over heating. The E66 code stops displaying after the initial code and you will then get a door open message. I replaced the thermal limiter and the thermostat just to be sure which part at the problem. The job is hard because you have to take apart the entire dryer and remove the drum. Would be a tough project to complete on your own. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Noisy & inefficient   Richard M. • Indianapolis , IN • December 06, 2016

After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. Apparently my older Whirlpool dryer has a somewhat ambiguous model number because the rollers that were shipped each time looked nothing like the originals. I realize that is not particularily uncommon - manufacturers often modify... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My dryer was working but it was making a lot of (constant) noise very loud.   Paul W. • Los Lunas , NM • September 24, 2017

The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. I am happy to say all the parts fit perfectly, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. I will definitely keep you on file for the next time I need appliance parts! Thank you! If your dryer won't stay lit or shuts off after a few minutes, the gas limiter may be faulty. This regulator controls safe gas flow to the burner.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I needed to convert from lp to natural gas   Mark S. • Raleigh , NC • June 01, 2015

Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Crosley Dryer Moisture Sensor
Genuine Frigidaire part

This moisture sensor consists of two metal strips typically mounted inside the dryer drum area that detect the moisture level in clothing during a drying cycle. It signals the control board to end the cycle when clothes reach the desired dryness. Crosley Dryer Thermal Fuse

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Catastrophic failure of the dryer cycling thermostat in a maytag neptune super stack   Richard M. • Cornish , NH • October 19, 2020

Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short. The thermostat literally exploded into chunks and dust. There was a heavy arcing and then, thankfully, the thermal fuse blew and shut down power to the short... Read more

Crosley Dryer Front Panel Felt Seal
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP3387242

This is a felt seal strip that attaches to the front bulkhead panel of the dryer where the drum meets the front of the cabinet. It creates a soft barrier that prevents heated air from escaping and keeps clothing from getting caught between the drum and the panel. Replace this seal if your dryer is taking too long to dry clothes, you feel hot air leaking from the front, or you hear squeaking or scraping sounds as the drum turns.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Squeaking kenmore dryer that stopped working   Paul M. • Norcross , GA • November 28, 2016

First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. The dryer was filled with lint and dust/dirt, so I also saw that the seals on the dryer had deteriorated greatly. AppliancePartsPros website is outstanding, far better than its competitors. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I used a 5/16 nut driver and removed the 2 screws in the bottom front panel and pulled it off. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire dryer door would not stay closed   Carolina L. • Miami , FL • September 08, 2015

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch.
