The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. Replaced valve had some trouble removing the fitting from the valve as the new fitting was slightly too large and had to be replaced with the fitting from the old valve. Used a large crescent wrench to grip the valve at the base and I was able to apply enough force to remove both fittings transferring old fitting to new valve. I went online and typed in my model number. I was just going to order the dryer belt, but decided that changing all the movable parts at the same time would be best - I definitely recommend doing this, since it was the tensioner pulley and not the belt. We got the heater core kit. Unplug, undo two screws and pulled old one out. Looking at the old one, put the new one together and then mounted it back in place. Turned on dryer but no heat so unplugged it, tapped on elements, plugged back in and it worked. Not to hard. Read more

The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. This was more maintenance than a fix. I replaced the door gasket and temp sensor on my dryer. Thought what the heck and it might work more efficiently. I also replaced the shocks on my front loading washer. That was a bit of a chore, but could not have done it without the video that showed how to replace them. The socket was the life saver. When I first looked at my dryer I thought it was my ignitor, on a closer look I found that about an inch of my burner assembly arm was laying in a corroded mess on the bottom pan of my dryer.
