First, DO NOT call Sears for parts, their call center knows nothing about the product. App-Pros are the best for help and the right parts. Bought this door gasket and watched the video, very easy if you just take your time and start in one corner and go to the opposite corner. this way it stretches the seal completely into each corner. do as the video says and it will go great. Read more

I took the new seal out of it's packaging and used a blowdryer on low heat to soften up the seal so that the crease from shipping (it was folded to ship) disappeared. Next I took the refrigerator door off, removed the old seal, & cleaned the area where the new seal would be applied. Following the video on the Appliance Pro Parts website, I re-installed the new seal and put the door back on. Last step was to snap on the new hinge cap I ordered. I went on the web and put in the refrigerator model. Several parts websites came up; I explored them all. All were approximately the same price, but I clicked on the installation video from AppliancePartsPros.com and was impressed with the thoroughness of the instructions. First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation. Easy to trace the leak to the bottom of the door. => Ordered new Air Vent Assembly, gasket and Vent Deflector. Parts arrived. Took 5 minutes to remove upper panel. Replaced Case Water Filter assembly DA81-05883A. Please read my post entirely before starting. I completed all the tasks that I could without having to disconnect the refrigerator since it was full of food. Disassembled and confirmed the clutch was bad. Also noticed a slight leak from the transmission shaft seal. Ordered replacement clutch, seal and oil from appliancepartspros.com. The parts arrived very quickly and exactly as ordered. Their repair videos were very accurate and made the job easy. I accomplished a quality repair at a reasonable cost.
