This is a genuine OEM replacement grease filter for use on cooktops. The air filter is used during cooking to filter smoke, grease, and other air contaminants from the air. When food is overheated, and smoke fills the kitchen, the air filter will pull the smoke from the air through the filter and out the exhaust.
