The Door Gasket is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It forms a seal between the dishwasher door and tub which is critical for proper operation. The gasket ensures excess water and moisture do not leak from the dishwasher during active wash and rinse cycles. It also helps keep noise levels low by providing sound insulation. This gasket measures 3/8 x 89 inches.
Common causes of a bad door gasket include regular wear and tear, exposure to high temperatures and detergents, or physical damage. These factors can cause the gasket to lose its flexibility and sealing capability.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
After researching on the APP site, I decided what I thought I would need and purchased a new Gasket, Gasket Insert, Left & Right Corner Baffles from APP. The parts were shipped immediately. However, I’m an 80 yr. old female so I procrastinated for almost 6 weeks before deciding to 'tackle' the repair myself rather than hiring an appliance repair person or "handyman". I went back into the AppliancePartsPros site and reviewed the wonderful videos related to the repair since Matt had made it... Read more
Dishes coming out dirty or spotty? A clogged sump filter lets food particles recirculate. This filter traps debris for cleaner dishes. DIY install.
My daughter and I went to Youtube and found an extremely well presented video on how to clean our exact make and model of dishwasher. We live in a newly rented house, new to us, not new. The dishwasher was an unholy nightmare of filth, clogged filters, calcium deposits coating and blocking in literal heaps, discovered when taken apart. The miracle really was that the dishwasher cleaned at all. We cleaned and scraped everything thoroughly, the fine filter and the sump filter as well but decided... Read more

I did not know how to remove the broken spray arm so when I muscled it out, the spray arm base broke. We ordered the replacement parts from appliance parts pros and received them within 2 days. I looked online to find out how to remove the spray arm base. I removed it be unscrewing the base, screwing the replacement base, and then snapping in the new spray arm. We tested the dishwasher and it worked just like it was new. Another new task learned and completed!! Read more

Dishwasher not filling with water or leaking during cycles? The water inlet valve controls water flow. DIY-friendly repair, typically 10-30 minutes.
I took the inlet valve apart, found it was clogged with sediment, so I cleaned it and reinstalled it. Water was still not filing, so I figured the valve was sticking. I ordered a new valve, because $30 was a lot cheaper than a new dishwasher. I took out the old valve with two screws, and disconnected the supply line, the brass elbow, one hose, and a wiring harness. I reattached it in the same place, re-using the all the other parts, and once I turned the power and water back on, it worked as... Read more
Dishwasher detergent cup won't stay closed or won't open fully? This soap dispenser lever controls detergent release. DIY repair in 15 minutes.
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then... It took an extra day because of the ice storm we had . That was ok. Thanks you . Read more

If your dishwasher won't start or the door won't lock, the door latch assembly is likely failed. DIY-friendly repair takes about 30 minutes to replace.
With the power to the dishwasher on, I removed the six or seven screws holding the door panel together. With the door separated, I manually moved the switch which should close when the dishwasher latch closes. This illuminated and activated the control panel telling me that the problem was in the door latch. I purchased a new latch from appliance parts pros and installed it. Very easy fix for a homeowner, taking thirty minutes. Read more
Replace broken or missing lower dishrack rollers and axles. Attaches to the bottom rack for smooth gliding when loading dishes. Sold as one roller kit.
I found my parts and ordered the six I needed, however I did not pick up on the difference from the front wheels to the rear wheels in the the descriptions. The rear wheels are narrower and I ordered all front wheels, six fronts instead of four front and two rear. I made it work by using the axle from the new wheel with two old narrow wheels. Read more
