The Thermistor Assembly is an OEM part for GE dryers. As an integrated sub-assembly, it includes multiple temperature-monitoring thermistors to comprehensively sense heat throughout cycles.
Located in air inlets and outlets, these thermistors provide feedback to regulating components like the control board and heating elements. This allows for consistent thermal operation by maintaining intended temperatures.
Causes of failure can be normal component wear over repeated heat cycles. Mineral buildup, electrical faults, or accidental mishandling may also prematurely impact functioning.
Symptoms of a faulty thermistor assembly include:
This genuine GE replacement ensures precise thermal regulation is fully restored. Compatible with some Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore dryer models as well, safety and performance reliability are improved.
The Outlet Control Thermistor is an OEM part for GE dryers. This thermistor monitors and regulates the temperature inside the dryer by sending temperature readings to the control board, ensuring the dryer operates at optimal temperatures for efficient drying and preventing overheating.
Causes of a bad outlet control thermistor can include wear and tear from regular use, electrical malfunctions, or exposure to excessive heat.
Symptoms of a bad outlet control thermistor include:
This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
My first attempt was to replace the main board and then the thermistor, should have done this the other way around, turned out it was the thermistor, a pretty cheap part, dryer works great now. Repair requires removing the drum but overall not too difficult or time consuming. Read more

The High Limit Thermostat is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is a safety device that prevents the dryer from overheating by cutting off power to the heating element if the temperature exceeds a safe limit. This helps protect the dryer and the user from potential fire hazards.
Causes of a bad high limit thermostat can include electrical faults, repeated exposure to high temperatures, or wear and tear over time. When the thermostat fails, it may either keep the dryer from heating or cause it to overheat.
Symptoms of a bad high limit thermostat include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I replaced all 3 thermostats. It works good now. Read more
This safety thermostat detects excessive heat and stops power to the heating system to help prevent overheating and thermal damage. It's a direct-replacement safety cut-out for compatible GE appliances. What it does:
Checked components with ohm meter until I found the defective part. A temperature sensor was open so I checked all around town and no one had the part or would take 10 days to get it. I ordered the part online and got it in 3 days from appliance parts pros. Read more
