Fix a refrigerator that won't cool or won't start. The compressor start device provides the electrical boost to start the compressor. DIY-friendly repair.
I watched a YouTube tutorial on "fridge's not cooling". A few troubleshooting ideas were discussed, one of which was to replace the "device start" and "run Capacitor". I probably only needed the device start but decided to purchase both through "AppliancePartsPros.com" for a total of $134. It was east to replace and things are starting to cool to their targeted temperatures. Appliance Parts Pros web site saved me from having to purchase a new fridge for about $800. Read more

Fix a refrigerator not cooling or ice buildup on evaporator coils with this defrost thermostat. Moderately easy install, typically 1-2 hours.
Fridge keept building up ice in defrost drain drain in freezer. Once the drain pan filled with ice it drips into fridge compartment. After taking things apart three times to thaw it out, decided to replace defrost components - heater and temperature switch. In addition to new parts, also added a 12 gauge copper wire hook that hangs from defrost heater into the defrost drain. After this, the defrost cycle is running as expected, but will not know if the issue is corrected until a year or so... Read more
Ice dispenser not working or coupling spins freely? This motor coupling connects the dispenser motor to the auger. 10-minute fix with channel lock pliers.
I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise... Read more
This is a utility or deli drawer pan that slides into the refrigerator compartment, typically used for storing deli meats, cheeses, and other items at a slightly different humidity or temperature zone. The pan does not include the front panel or frame. Replace it if the drawer is cracked, stained beyond cleaning, or if the sides are damaged and it no longer slides smoothly on its tracks.

Fix a refrigerator that won't defrost, freezes food, or has temperature control issues. This electronic control board regulates compressor and fan operation.
Ice maker stopped making ice or won't turn off? This ice level control board monitors bin levels to control ice production. Simple DIY repair.
Bought new optic control boards, both the emitter and the receiver. The repair process was so simple. The KitchenAid repair tech came out to diagnose our issue. He was only going to come back and install a new emitter. They wanted a lot of money to do the repair. They were going to charge us $257 just for the part (emitter board). We bought both boards for $300 from AppliancePartsPros. We decided to replace both boards, because if one went bad the other might not be far behind. Read more
Refrigerator not cooling evenly or making unusual noises? This evaporator fan motor circulates cold air throughout your fridge. Moderate DIY repair.
Ice won't switch between crushed and cubed? The dispenser solenoid controls the crusher mechanism. Most DIYers replace it in 25-30 minutes with basic tools.
Although the solenoid I purchased did not fix the problem, nor the "mother electronic board", or the motor, my experience with Appliance Parts Pros has been excellent. Extremely easy to look-up parts for my model refrigerator. Best part is their video instruction that gives you step-by-step hands-on how to remove and install. I would highly recommend these folks. If a lady such as myself can do repairs based on their instruction, anyone can. Thank you for providing such an informative... Read more

I went to the company website to identify the parts I needed. The drawings were very helpful and I bought all the parts I thought I would need.
