Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. I didn't have to buy any parts for the latter part of this little repair project, though. Read more

While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. I looked carefully at why this one row of tines might be wobbly and saw that the row of tines next to it was secured by these little plastic pieces that just seemed to snap on. The part just snaps on the basket. You have to remove the clips on the end of the runner arms to be able to remove the basket. Once it was out the old arm snap off and you snap on the new arm. Only problem was my old arm was fine and I wished the company would just sell the gasket. It seems a waste to have to purchase the whole arm. The complete job took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. I ordered the part online a Sunday afternoon and it arrived at my house on Tuesday. Read more

Order parts and replace. When removing attachments, do them one at a time and install them on new rack as you go. Watch for the small release tabs on the attachments (baskets, rollers and tine holders), "gently" put pressure to release; remember these units have been in hot water and they are brittle. Read more

I bumped into my KitchenAid dishwasher and the upper rack adjuster cracked. There was already a crack on the notch of the housing where the handle (lever) sits. In addition, the positioner popped out and I couldn't find it. So, I bought the three parts from AppliancePartsPros online. It arrived in about a week. I ordreded the tine clip kit. APPros was the least expensive, even with the shipping charge, and I had it in two days. Replacement piece snapped into place with very little difficulty. I also have extras from the kit so I am set if another breaks. Read more

Found the correct racks on Appliance Parts.com. They shipped as promised. When I received them, however, I couldn't figure out how to replace the top rack. Didn't know how to get the end cap off Sooo - I went back on the website and watched the repair video and voila - was easy.
