Ice machine died only lasted a couple of years with problems from day one Elizabeth H. • San Diego , CA • October 15, 2015
In 2012 I purchased an LG French door bottom freezer fridge. this thing was a problem from day one, I had to call 3 technicians where I bought it from- a nameless major retailer. through the 2 1/2 years I have had it, the problems were always with the ice cube maker, and finally, the motor finally stalled. I was able to revive it, but only for a short time- then I went to replace the unit all together and searched high and low until I came across Appliance Pros. I actually had no idea that 2 of...

Lg french door in door ice maker stopped working Erich Y. • Jensen Beach , FL • December 19, 2015
Replaced ice maker. Some confusion as to which part # it was as the model number cross reference shows the one I purchased was not for my model refrigerator when it actually was. Secondly, a few comments from others said the switch out was simple. Only 3 screws holding in the ice maker although one of the three was in a tight spot . That is technically true. Three screws do hold the ice maker on the door , however, you must also remove the door panel behind the ice maker to get to the wiring...

- Helps isolate ice-maker failures from water-supply or valve issues when diagnosing ice problems.
What's included: One ice maker assembly. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power and shut off the water supply before beginning service.
- Some installs require removing shelves, drawers or interior panels.
- Basic hand tools are typically all that's needed; handle electrical connectors and the fill tube carefully.

Started off by replacing the water lines and valve, purchased from the same site. Thought I'd cured the problem, but no. Next step was to replace the icemaker, which is incredibly simple. Undo 2 screws, pop out the clips give the wiring harness a good tug and the whole lot comes out. Reverse the process to install the new one.
