This part is an control board for washers. The control board is the part that controls the main functions of a washing machine. It is the main component that sends signals to the washer to perform its intended functions, controlling the desired washer settings. If the washing machine is not filling with water, spinning normally, or draining properly, this might mean it's time for a new control board. While it might seem difficult to replace this part, it's actually a simple process. First, pull the washer forward to access the back panel. Remove the upper back panel. Push the front of the control panel and pry it up with a putty knife removing it from the mounting brackets. Disconnect any wires attached to the old control board and be sure to take note of which wires go where by taking a photo with a phone camera. Then disconnect the air hose. Remove the mounting screws from the control board. Release the locking tabs and pull the control board out of the console. Position the new board in place and pop it into the locking tabs. Reconnect the air hose to the back of the control panel, and reconnect the wires into the back of the new control board. This genuine control board is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore brand washers.

Ordered the replacement timer (perfect match, packed nicely, and delivered on the 3rd day after order!), sprayed a tiny bit of grease on the motor gear, and a little silicone spray on the control wheel, and installed the part. Also, noticed that a badly balanced wash load could cause the tub to slam into the edge of the timer. I fashioned a cushion out of heavy foam and attached it under the center metal brace on top, to dampen the upward movement of the drum. New timer works great. Time... Read more

My wife suspected that the washing machine was broken because the load of wash started in the morning was still running at dinner time. I determined all the functions of the machine worked except the timer. AppliancePartsPro's website helped to confirm my diagnosis. Incidentally, this all took place in the evening...when I called there was someone in Customer Service to take my call and who also confirmed my diagnosis. I ordered the part and was glad to know there was no risk since I could... Read more
