I replaced the Defrost Heater and the Fan Motor w/Harness (contains the thermoswitch for the Defrost Heater). I didn't know which part was defective, and I didn't want to tear apart the refrigerator twice (first finding the defective part and then replacing it). All this occurred after our utility had to cut off our water for 2-3 hours. We almost ordered a new ice maker, but thankfully someone had their repair story posted. Based on that story, we ordered a new ice maker supply line and a new water inlet valve for our Kitchen Aid refrigerator. First had to clean inside the empty freezer, that was the hard part. removed old gasket and cleaned inside the track in the door. had the new gasket well warmed and in the right shape. put new gasket in track. seating it firmly. It was very easy. I did watch a couple of online videos to get the general idea of what it detailed. The video was very helpful, but my KitchenAid model required slightly more steps. Only the two screws in front held the filter housing, same as the video shows, but it has to be removed from the rear.
