Bruce for Model Number whirlpool washer Model no. LSQ8000LQ1

THE WASHER DOES NOT ALWAYS SPIN ALL THE WATER OUT OF CLOTHES,THERE IS NOT ANY WATER LEFT IN THE TUB BUT CLOTHES ARE VERY WET SOMETIMES. happens worse with larger loads but has done it with medium or smaller loads.I am thinking the lid switch may being opening up intermittently during spin cycle, but could the drive coupling also be the issue?I am assuming there would be standing water if it were a pump issue? or is it possible motor is not spinning as fast as it used to? thanx

Bruce, The motor drive coupling 285753A could be the issue,if one of the legs is cracked or broken, if the legs are bent, etc. this would create a spin speed issue. But, the more likely issue is the clutch 285785 is warn and slipping under a heavy load.

Hi Julie, I found model number LSQ9610LW instead of LSW9610LW so you might want to verify your model again. If the machine is leaking water at the bottom, it is possibly the drain pump WP3363394 or one of the hoses. 285871 (Tub to Pump Hose) or WPW10358149 (Internal Drain Hose). We have a video on our site showing how to replace the pump. It's an easy repair that only takes a few minutes. Thanks!

David, The issue is most likely a timer issue WP3949210, based on your post. If the washer fills and agitates, there's a 95% chance, the issue is not in the motor components. Since the pump was clear, and was not making noise, the drain pump should be OK.The buzzing noise and no spin issue is most likely due to a faulty contact inside the timer.

Hello Jeff, It would be much easier to help you diagnose the issue with a model number. Without it I can tell you to check the plumbing by dis-connecting the cold water line and putting it in a bucket. Turn the water back on and see if the water slows to a trickle. If it does, the issue is in the home plumbing. If it doesn't, the problem can be in the water valve. It's kind of hard to say since I cannot look up a wiring diagram or even see the configuration you have. I recommend you re-post with a model number so we can help you more specifically.

Hello Sir, The pump has probably had a string wrap around the impeller assembly inside it and the spinning of the pump heated it up and actually melted it. Replace the drain pump and this will correct the draining and the leak. You should throw away old towels that many people save to wash their car or boat with. The strings pull off the edges and provide means of the same thing happening again.

Hello Kevin. If the washer does not drain, but it does go into the spin cycle, you may have a bad pump WP3363394 and the pump need to be replaced. If there is no spinning action or no water draining, you may have a bad lid switch on the unit. If the water drains, but the unit does not spin, you may have a bad motor coupling or the clutch assembly is bad on the unit.

Hello Gonzalo, If the tub fills with water with the machine off, you need to make sure you have sufficient water pressure to the unit, (water faucets turned on all the way). If this isn't the cause, you need to replace the water inlet valve. I'm sorry but I cannot provide a part number without a model number.
