The Infinite Switch is an OEM part for GE electric ranges. It regulates precise temperature settings for the bake and surface elements. This is specifically for 6" inch elements.
Symptoms of a bad infinite switch include:
Causes can involve degraded metal contacts, worn internal components, or damaged wiring connections after extended use.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore electric range models.
The parts are under the stovetop and the knobs are attached to them. We bought the correct ones from AppliancePartsPros, these were the correct ones. Seems we have an oddball stovetop. It's a GE drop in stove. The parts were easy to change. It was a simple matter of putting the wires on the new switch in the same place there were on the switch. I took phone pics of the wire locations before I took them off and only did one switch at a time. Turn the power off at the breaker panel first of... Read more
Fixes dual burner stuck on high, won't heat, or no inner ring control. This infinite switch restores precise temperature selection. 45-60 minute DIY repair.
I replaced both the element and the switch. It was a relatively easy fix, although I needed a second set of hands to hold the stovetop upright while I did the replacement. The entire job took about 45-60 minutes. Read more
Burners won't spark or ignite? This igniter switch assembly restores reliable ignition to gas burners. Most DIYers complete this repair in 20-30 minutes.
A few weeks back, when shutting off a burner, the igniter started sparking and wouldn't stop. Working the knobs and jiggling them got it to stop. Fast forward a few weeks. Finish cooking, go sit down to eat. Hear snapping noise, go look, see burners are all off and the igniters are all sparking. Jiggle the knobs. Poof! Flames come out the top one! What a stink. Unplugged stove, finished dinner. Loosened the cooktop and investigated. Ordered switch. Two days later, part arrives. Two screws... Read more

If your oven won't start or runs with the door open, this door interlock switch detects proper closure and latching. DIY repair in under an hour.
This turned out to be a very complicated repair ONLY because the wires that attached to the very far end of the broil element came detached inside and behind the wall of the oven. It is one step this side of impossible to fish the wires out and reconnect them to the new element. This would be a very easy job PROVIDED that you do not allow the two wires that connect to the element to become detached inside the rear oven wall. Read more
Burner won't spark or click when turned to Lite? This igniter switch mounts on the gas valve to signal the spark module. DIY fix in under 30 minutes.
Ordered ignitor harness and two burners (Holder/Orifice) and with supplied videos spent about 40 minutes exchanging parts - saved roughly $500. Must say, great parts (look original), good price, easy web site and, most of all, helpful video! Read more
Fix a dual burner that won't heat or lacks proper temperature control. This infinite switch restores heat regulation for accurate simmer-to-boil cooking.
Ordered a new switch (4456027) from you. You seemed to have the best price and guaranteed that it was a OEM part -not everybody did. I had repaired Jenn Air cook tops before so I thought this was not a problem. Wrong. Mostly it was my own stupidity. I exchanged the wires from the old switch to the new one at a time but did write down where the original wires went. Flipped the breakers back on. Only one heater got hot. Searched the internet for several days for a wiring diagram. Nothing much.... Read more

Fix burner clicking without sparking or nonstop clicking with this valve switch. Restores spark ignition when you turn the knob to Lite. Easy DIY repair.
I changed out the white burners for black ones which will be easier to clean. This is a simple matter of removing two screws on each burner. The one igniter switch turned out to be okay, but was not fully seated on the valve shaft. As to lighting off issues, the new burners helped, but the most improvement came from removing the burners and cleaning the orifices that supply gas to the burner tubes with a bit of fine wire. Burner won't spark or ignite? This ignition switch controls the spark module for gas range surface burners. Mounts on the valve assembly behind knobs.
Rather than replacing the whole ignition switch harness, I cut out the broken switch and replaced it with Burner Ignition Switch WB24K10017 / AP2632529. Wire stripper, small wire nuts, and electrical tape were also used. At first, the new switch was constantly on when the knob was in the off position. The gas valve shaft has a "U" shape. When the U is right side up, the gas is off and so should the igniter. The gas valve shaft position couldn't be changed, so instead, I re-mounted the... Read more
