Removed old thermostat and pulled old thermocouple fron oven. ran new thermocouple to oven and put in clip, tistalled new thermostat using 2 phillips head screws, done. Read more

With the help of several You Tube videos I was able to diagnose the problem. Diagnosis was confirmed with the help of a multi-meter. The thermo fuse was dead. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros on Wednesday and it arrived via UPS on Friday afternoon. The fuse was very easy to remove and replace and my range was up and running in less than 15 minutes. Replaced spark module - oven was less than two years old. Like a lot of new gas ovens, turning on any one burner to 'lite' sends sparks to all 5 top burners. The difficulty was getting to the spark module, as some generic videos show access to it from the upper panel on the back of the oven, but it wasn't there. I have had this oven for 40+ years. It is an enamel oven, something that you can no longer buy. Because I did not wish to buy new, I decided to service it myself and searched for the parts I needed. I removed the oven door, removed all screws, detached the front from the rear, carefully took out broken glass, replaced with new (smaller sized than original, but worked), reattached front and rear panels, replaced screws, and replaced door to finish. Read more

The repair was relatively simple and quick. The only part required was a new oven thermostat assembly and the tools I used for my model was a flathead screwdriver, cross-point screwdriver, torque bit and 1/4 inch socket using a bit driver. Replaced igniter and orifice assembly, and replaced spark module. Used the video for help, but the video doesn't show the top cover piece that needs to be taken off first. Also the screws for the igniter set were stuck from old grease or something and had to be drilled out. Overall the project was well worth my time for the cost vs replacement decision. Removed existing gasket and replaced with new gasket in less than 5 minutes. Very Easy. Make sure to remove the lower burner cover (inside the oven) which allows you to pull the end gasket material through the two circular openings in the frame. Read more
