A bit of research on the internet indicated the most likely problem was with the defrost system. I found the service manual for the refrigerator and was able to determine that the defrost heater and thermostat passed the self test. The refrigerator would perform a forced defrost which resulted in a cold refrigerator. We turned off the circuit breaker. We then removed the light cover and then the control panel. We disconnected the Keyboard, Utah, plugged in the new one and turned the breaker on to see if everything worked. We realized that we did not need a new jazz board so that is being returned. The old Keyboard was removed, the new one attached and all the parts were put back. The frig works fine now at the recommended settings of zero and 38F. Read more

Replaced the timer - This should have been a VERY easy repair however, there is a clip (holding the timer to panel) on the bottom of timer than must be removed with a pair of pliers. There is absolutely NO room to access this clip so I had to take apart much of the dryer to gain access. What should have been a 15 minute repair turned into a frustrating hour. Read more

1. Purchased a new Facade. The removal of the old one was relatively easy except that the two screws that hold it in place (behind the spill tray) were rusted (they should have used stainless steel ones) one came out with a vise grip but on the other I had to buy an "Easy Out" tool from Home Depot, once out the unit drops down. Replaced the defrost timer. It was not located where the parts explode suggested in the thermostat control box which is located in the upper right corner of the liner. It was in fact outside the freezer compartment on the back lower left support (when looking at the back of the freezer). It is secured with 2 sheet metal screws with a 1/4 hex head. • Freezer not defrosting

I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks. I ordered the new oven bottom from Appliance Parts Pros and within three days I had a brand new oven bottom. Took the old one out, the new one fit superbly. At first, I suspected the evaporator fan motor was going bad, but when I went in to check it out, I found the evaporator coils totally frozen up; the fan was cavitating. I defrosted the coils completely and checked everything out. By process of elimination the Defrost timer had to be the culprit. I unplugged the timer and sure enough, the motor winding was open.
