This grate frame is designed for ranges and allows pots and pans to sit over when being used for cooking. The grate frame can become damaged from dropping, striking, or placing improper or heavily weighted cookware on top of it. When the frames crack or break, items can't sit on top of them properly, and this will cause uneven heating. A replacement frame will need to be ordered. Before installing this part, make sure the surface isn't hot and unplug the appliance from its power source. The old grate frame should easily lift up from its position.
