The Transformer is an OEM part for GE gas cooktops. This component is responsible for converting electrical power to the necessary voltage required for the cooktop's ignition system to function correctly.
Replace this transformer if it fails to supply the proper voltage, leading to ignition issues. Common causes of a bad transformer include electrical surges, overheating, or normal wear and tear over time.
Symptoms of a bad Gas Cooktop Transformer include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
The ordeal began after wiping around burner knobs with a moist paper towel with cleaner and wrapping the towel around the burner knob shaft to clean around it. The cooktop stopped sparking on all the 5 burners and no red LED light. There was gas flow and I could light the burner using a lighter. I looked up and found a couple of good youtube videos on troubleshooting and also came upon the AppliancePartsPros.com site. I opened the cooktop (youtube video helped) after turning off the gas supply... Read more
This light transformer (20VA) steps down incoming voltage for the appliance's light circuit. Replace a failing transformer to restore dependable illumination so you can monitor cooking progress and see clearly when cleaning.
Studied schematics and watched many on-line videos. Did some electrical checks with VOM (Volt/Ohm Meter). Determined that control panel thermal fuse attached to back of control panel had opened due to high temp. Determined that the upper oven thermal fuse on back of oven had opened due to high temp. Determined that transformer that supplies power to lights was bad (open primary). Removed control panel circuit board and had it repaired/verified good. Faulty control panel was the reason that oven... Read more
This replacement transformer converts household line voltage to the correct level for the appliance's control circuits. It restores stable power to the display and relays so the unit can start and run consistently.
This transformer provides the low-voltage power supply required by the appliance control system, enabling proper operation of the control board and related low-voltage circuits. Replaces a failed or noisy transformer to restore reliable control power. What it does:
This power transformer assembly converts incoming line voltage to the lower-voltage supply used by the appliance's control electronics. Replacing a failed transformer restores proper power to control boards and related circuits. What it does:
This high-voltage transformer steps line voltage up to power the magnetron, producing microwave energy. Replacing a failed transformer can restore heating when the oven runs but doesn't heat or hums without cooking.
I checked the transformer and did not get outlet voltage. The big problem was to release the cooktop cover. The central jet holder broke and was almost impossible to release the cover. In the process was necessary to damage the main tube, the long range nut with chamfer, and the nut. After that I ordered all the pieces to IPS parts because there were 30% cheaper than partspro. IPS people keep saying to me after a lot of arguments that the order will be delivered the next week. After one and a... Read more
