It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. It was a relatively easy fix - if you know how to take the dryer apart. If you don't, there are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how. Make sure you find your model. Since the wheel had separated from the nut, it wasn't quite as easy and holding the shaft and loosening the wheel. I had to remove (destroy) the wheel first. I looked on Appliance Parts Pros. com and read the problems that others had and replacing the ignitor made sense so I ordered one. It came by UPS within 3 days. I watched the video on how to replace it. Everything went easily, except the screw that held the ignitor in place was a philups head screwdriver and I couldn't get a screwdriver into the small space I had to work in so I went to Harbor Freight Tools and bought an inexpensive 90 degree rachet screwdriver for $2.99 and it worked great.... Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... • Timer will not advance

I went ahead and ordered the element, and the 2 different thermostats not knowing exactly which one might be the problem. My My Maytag opens from the front and it was actually pretty easy to get into. Also gave me the opportunity to vacuum out the inside of the dryer. Pop the top off, remove the wires that connect the door switch (noting the colors and placement), take off the 2 inside nuts that hols the fron on, pull it forward and lift it off, 3 inside screws to take out to inside lint part... The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. I figured there could only be a couple reasons why the dryer would not heat so I did some research. I read where you could test for continuity on the parts to determine which one was bad. A friend referred me to this site, I looked up the part for my particular model, ordered and replaced the part. It could not have been any easier. • Won't start

1) Ordered part. 2) Removed front panel by loosening the two screws at the bottom front. 3) Removed old Safety Switch/Lid Lock by disconnecting wires (plug and 2 female disconnects) 4) Reconnected all wires and reinstalled switch. 5) Replaced front panel. 6) Tested Unit. 7) FYI - I found that the locking mechanism stays locked until cycle completely finishes on its own. DO NOT force the cycle to end. Lid will NOT unlock. Read more
